Invasive diagnostic procedures

Cystoscopy: Is the main diagnostic tool for the exploration of the lower urinary tract. Usually is performed in the office under local anaesthesia with the use of flexible endoscope which makes the procedure very well tolerated.

Prostate biopsy: Is performed under transrectal ultrasound guidance and allow to the urologist to take biopsies throughout the prostatic tissue. Should be considered in all men suspected of prostate cancer. It is well tolerated and usually is performed under local anaesthesia.
